Today, I want to invite you for a different MUN, called SIMUNA.
But what is SIMUNA? And why is it different?
What is that mean?
It means that everything, is made with the proposal to invite students to discuss important topics, internationally or regionally, since we have already have some committees that discussed brazilian cases and laws.
Our goal is to rouse in their minds a feeling that they are a very important piece in our world's puzzle, and they are the future of our planet. We want them discussing, showing us that youth is able to transform everything, even the closest minds...
SIMUNA, in portuguese means Simulação de Relações Internacionais do Colégio Nacional, in other words, MUN of International Relations of Colégio Nacional (one of the biggest schools in my city).
What about the committees and MUN stuff?
This year, we will have 4 committees, and press committee, with newspapers from all around the world.
The first committee, will be the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), where delegates will discuss about the gender violence against children and women related to the growth of the fundamentalist movements in the Middle East and Africa.
The third committee will be UNHRC, where students will talk about the 66th year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, focusing on the promotion of basic rights through education.
Have you ever imagined discussing peace without international treaties about human rights?
That will be hard... Only the good ones will survive... hahaha
Don't miss it! You can apply for SIMUNA at 25/03/2015 to 31/03/2015.
There is a fee of R$140 (BRL), which covers the event, a MUN kit (Pen, mug, bag, notebook and mobile charger) and coffee breaks.
It will be held in Uberlândia, Brazil, in May 21th to 24th.
I hope to see you all!
PS: this event will be in portuguese, although, if you would like to join it, please contact me, and we will provide a translator in the day of the event. That's very fancy! hahaha
