Start and finish a book every day
Work on your memory
Do not believe predictions that do not empower you, if not it will make you wither, said Sean Stephenson in his TEDtalk. I am sure everyone wants to develop themselves. Develop a life of strength: grow and create new habits. Thus I love this quote by Earl Nightingale: Conformity and people acting like everyone else, without knowing why or where they are going. So, the question is: why do we wake up or why do we get up, every day?
In life, you see some people who work hard and do not achieve anything, while others do nothing but everything they touch, becomes gold. We have to realize that the difference between them lays in their goals, those who seem to do nothing, have clear goals, they know where they are going. That is why, you will hear this quote many times: we become what we think about.
Set yourself a goal. I have decided to create a new habit. Start and finish a book every day and work on my memory. I believe there is no cheaper education than a book. Be serious with who you go and the habits they have, because people are contagious, and there is no doubt that our brain disconnects itself the moment we stop learning, so you want to surround yourself with the right group.
I have learnt that our brain fully develops until the age of 25, so if you are still a teenager, you have time to work on your brain. When I first heard about what I would call a real challenge of reading a book each day, I thought how would I manage, when I hardly read 10 books in a year.
But here are some tips I will definitely be applying to my new habit.
-Having a book available in multiple formats allows you to take advantage of more reading opportunities.Using various format: Hardbook, kindle, pdf/online formats. For example:
Going to work
Standing in line for coffee
Walking with or without a dog
Lying in bed before falling asleep
Washing the dishes
Not having to read from beginning.
-I realize we all do this. When we start a new book, we always want to start form the beginning. THERE IS ACTUALLY NO WRITTEN RULE ABOUT THIS.Bounce from middle. You are the boss of your book, read however you want to.
-Look for who is good in a specific field, get the right books for you and for your interest,
-Check the table of content, which part is more valuable for you.
-Learn How To Use The Brain More Effectively while reading.
-Note, highlight, write, underline. Oblige yourself to an active participation, do not be a passive reader.
-Visualization is key. In order to retain ideas, so that your brain remembers in pictures, visualize images although. Just like the quote, success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
-Create a metaphorical slap to yourself. Not that you slap yourself, but you pay extra attention to the things that call your attention while reading.
-Create rhythm to the words you read, there is power in rhythm. We all still remember the song form nursery school, A, B, C, or any song we sing with more than 100 words, because of the rhythm.
-You should not only read a book just one time. Create an habit of repetition.
-When you read, pick up at least one good idea. One book a week is acceptable, but one book a day may be too much. Remember you do not have to finish a book a day, but read through a book each day.
-Through reading, you can find mentors. Meaning people 10 times better than you form whom you will definitely learn.
The goal is for you to BECOME AN EXPERT IN YOUR CRAFT. FOR EVERY PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING, SOME ELSE HAS ALREADY SOLVED IT OR CAN HELP YOU SOLVE IT.
