Dear delegates, dear guests of the Russian capital!
The Russians are glad to welcome you all in one of the most diverse city, and we hope you will manage to see it from the inside, touch its spirit and feel its unique atmosphere.
We do not aim to glorify Moscow in your eyes and to spotlight its upsides for you to remember it. Moscow itself possesses the entire glance which will certainly make you fall in love with our city.
Praised by numerous poets, musicians and artists, Moscow combines the most different features, and you can choose the ones you like best. Dear friend, if you have never been here, we’d like to show you that Moscow is:
Our bright, spotty but well-dressed city was called “white-stoned” for its amazing carved monasteries (for instance, a famous Novodevichy Convent), “golden” for the domes of its lightsome churches (take the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour) and “green” for the vast green parks (for example, the famous Gorky Park mentioned in a song by the Scorpions. The brightest decoration of the city is presented by a candy St. Basil's Cathedral, which is closely connected by the white and black clues with the history of Moscow – the city which has been adorning the face of the world for 863 years. Take a night walk and discover new, modern Moscow – shining, flaring and pulsing with its traffic – and you will feel your change from a professional delegate into an ingenious artist!
Moscow has time and again been given the titles of «the most» and some of them reflected credit upon it. Not only Moscow is the most «dear» in all the meanings of this very word, but it has also proved its superiority in the sphere of aesthetics and culture. Our city, which is ready to surprise you by its 190 stations in “the most beautiful underground in the world”, possesses, by the way, “the largest library in Europe”. Moreover, Moscow will definitely win your heart, opening for you the doors of its 78 museums and 72 theatres. “The most fascinating range of choice”, isn't it?
Once being the capital of the Soviet Union, Moscow managed to save its main principles: uniting the representatives of 41 nationalities, the city is the incarnation of polyculturalism and a rich variety of ethnic colors. Furthermore, for Moscovites, Moscow is not a simple embodiment of the former Soviet Empire, but a quintessence of the whole world. Moscow personifies the Great Chinese Wall in the figured prolonged Kremlin Wall, the Roman hills in the picturesque Vorobyovi hills, London's Big Ben in the Spasskaya tower with its melodic watches, the Paris creature of Eiffel in the Ostankino tower, the Sydney Opera House in the Bolshoi Theatre, the Washington Memorial of the leader in the Lenin Mausoleum, the new York Fifth Avenue street in the singing and painting Old Arbat. Moscow even has its own Prague...but it’s only the restaurant! Yet even so the most important point:
Moscow is UNIQUE!
There is no reason in comparing Moscow with an artsy Matryoshka, sold as a well-known and familiar symbol. Listen to the music of Moscow - you won't hear playing out of tune; peer into its panorama – you won’t see shadows; taste it – flavor won’t be feebly sweet.Moscow is absolutely different. This is our Moscow. But it can become yours as well!
