[Update 13] The central Caucus meeting
The central Caucus meeting was on July 12 in Sremski Karlovci, where young people participated in workshops about entrepreneurship and better governance.
The first panel on July 12 Entrepreneurship is a Cure to Unemployment was opened by OYW Ambassador Sade Savings, the activist of the organization Rise Africa Rise and founder of Johannesburg-based coaching practice Dynamic Life Design who emphasized that South Africa needs more education about entrepreneurship so that running companies becomes a more desirable lifestyle choice. Aris Konstantinidis, the founder of GloVo, The Global Volunteering Platform explained how his company involves the driven people in international events and how it traditionally sends 50 volunteers to EXIT Festival this year. Another One Young World Ambassador, Mak Dukan, an economist working and commuting Zagreb-Grac and author of the UNDP-supported and crowdfunding-supported project The First Energy Independent School spoke about overcoming obstacles in financing the projects and how he switched to entrepreneurship mindset with the right team. Bojana Rajić, the intern in HeySuccess start-up spoke on behalf of the absent founder Milenko Pilic about the importance of students' continuous improvement and extracurricular activities as a key to unemployment. With support of One Young World HeySuccess conducted several workshops about skill development and started a tour in the Balkans and Italy.
The second part of One Young World Caucus in Serbia was marked by Ioanna Fotopoulou’s workshop Youth Role for Better Governance and Sustainable Development. Ioanna Fotopoulou, The OYW Coordinating Ambassador from Europe 2 region and a founder of YouRule platform which engages Greek youth in dialogue with local authorities through usage of technologies and concrete projects, showed in a series of fun and engaging exercises what an individual and team can do to create better society and governance regardless of geography.
