This past weekend, 50 students from Netherlands, South Korea and China gathered in Chengdu, China for 3 days for a Global Start Up Camp led by YESCAMP. In the three days, students had to form teams, develop a business social idea that solves a problem, develop a prototype, locate their market, talk to their customers, make presentations, and finally present to prestigious judges for their final execution. Top mentors such as government officials from EU, and Ivy league universities graduates act as mentors to students. I was a mentor, and my three teams placed First and Third place. The ideas that won were creating a device for riders to reduce fatalities, and serving the blind population with a motion detector sound spoon! For all of us looking to become talented people to make changes in our world tech skills, business knowledge, innovation and social consciousness are key things for development. Being able to have ideas, collaborate, and develop something takes intense work and effort. Here is what I learned from this experience
1. Cross Culture Experiences are valuable to truly master collaboration and build patience.
2. YESCAMP experience is valuable in your community organize one!
3. Share the knowledge! Help others grow!
