Many of us is already familiar with the words like “Climate Change” and “Global Worming”. Currently, these are the most alarming environmental issue for mankind. The gas have reached to a very dangerous point and our future existence in this earth greatly depends on how we react immediately. Not only the mankind but also every other species are effected by the global warming.
According to Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report, the carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases has exceeded 398 PPM with the long term PPM exceeding 455. Tim Flannery, a climate change expert says, the amount of greenhouse gas already existing in the environment is enough to cause severe environmental change. He alerted my saying that, we are already on a risk.
But how did all this happen? One of the main reasons of the increased greenhouse gases is urbanization and industrialization. The growth of carbon emission caused by the manufacturing industries in 1990’s was less than 10% per year, but from the year 2000 a dramatic increase (3.5% per year) in the emission was noticed. According to Fatih Birol, IEA’s chief economist, the temperature tend to increase 6 degree by 2015.
The alarming issue is, all the countries realize the harms caused by this issue, but no one is stepping forward to control it.Since 2000, no country in the world could reduce the carbon emission.
