MUNPlanet: A big thing with us is conferences and youth opportunities in general. Do you think that conference organizers can use influencer marketing to advertise their conferences or is it tied to specific areas?
Riley: No, I’m seeing influencers invited to conferences more and more. I think they have a massive reach, I’ve seen inviting influencers to conferences becoming more and more common, at gaming conferences specifically, so I’m totally advising for conference creatives and people that are marketing it to look to influencers to grow their events.
MP: With such huge numbers, do you think that all marketing in the future will be based on influencer marketing?
Riley: Not all of it. But I would say that it's going to become an absolutely vital thing for every single brand. I can see positions being created within the companies, influencer specific, you know, guys that are in charge of managing those partnerships. It can no longer be ignored as a channel. It’s just something that will become more and more mainstream. It’s a channel that's only going to grow. We’re only seeing the beginning. But it's going to be huge going forward.
MP: Finally, do you have any advice for young entrepreneurs?Riley: Think big. Don't be afraid to fail. Just know what you're learning every time that you do fail. Be able to do a retrospective and think how you would change it. I would say always be trying to learn, see where people are going, do as much research as you can, make sure your brand voice is consistent when you're just working on practising what you want to do in marketing. Make sure that you look forward, see where there’s a need, find out everything there is to know about influencer marketing if you are interested in it, and find out ways to be innovative with it.
