When I arrived to my first year of university I was a really energetic MUNer and I was expecting everyone to be just like me. A few months passed until I realized there where few excited people and that MUN was considered an entertainmet rather than an academic activity. To change this situation I teamed up with an Irish friend to start a real MUN project at Sciences Po, Poitiers campus. We started a formal project in september 2013. After many months preparing totally new people to MUN we were going our first conference, UCLMUN 2014.
Booking accomodation, getting train tickets and making sure everyone was in their committe o time were part of our obligations. However best part of this experience was being able to see how the people we trained had improved. Even if it was the first MUN for most our delegates, I was able to see how their skills ha improved.
For the academic year 2014/2015 me and my friend left the Poiters campus of Sciences Po, nevertheless the delegates we had trained continued and improved the project. MUN has made me a more organized person, since it has made me to take responsability over other people. I have no doubt I will not forget UCLMUN since it was the conference where I saw the first delegates I had trained do an amazing job and become passionate about MUN.
Having had so many positive stories around MUN I want people to take new challenges and opportunities. Definitvely TGIMUNC this year is something any MUNer or new MUNer should consider!
