I think that from the very first awkward hellos until a mix between tears and laugh when I read the post-conference posts and placard messages, BerlInMUN 2015 made me feel so welcome by every single one of its participants, from ex-com members, secretariat until the delegates. I found amazing how a group where most know each other so well, have the ability to be incredible open an helpful with the newcomers.
I thought that if you are not globally aware in this era of globalisation you are a step behind the challenges that the new technologies bring every single day for the society; and because of that and besides the fact that BerlInMUN would be my first conference abroad, I kept every single moment in mind, that even when it would not been my first time chairing, that would be a challenge.
It’s no secret that chairing a council is at times frustrating, stressful, excited, funny and interesting. However, this was for me one of the best academical and social experiences so far, and it is all because of the things I learnt and the people I knew. Whether by their supportive words, their jokes, their rants, their advices or by sitting with you to go through a document until 4AM, I always knew that that team would have my back.
I truly loved each of the MUN I have been part, but specially that summer in Berlin exceeded my expectations, as an academic experience was wonderfully rewarding, and as a socializing time was the most comforting one.
I’m pretty sure that the coming summer will bring incredible things, and one them is TGIMUNC. If you want to have what I above mentioned and even more, do not hesitate in join me in New Delhi and have an incredible time in India (Apply | THE GLOBAL INDIAN MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE ).
