MUNLEAI is a conference organized every year at PUCE, in Quito, by my school (LEAI). That must be the first clue to why I chose this particular MUN, I feel very attached to this event, it has been part of my life since I was freshman, and I truly feel it mine. In 2013 I had the honor to be part of the organizing team of MUNLEAI's seventh edition, which taught me several lessons.
Before that, I had only participated in a MUN as a delegate, which, I believe, is the most fun role in a MUN conference. So I got involved with the organizing team, and it was just then when I realized how much work it requires to have a successful, well-organized conference. We had to look for sponsors, get authorizations, make invitations, promote the event, and so on and so on. Although it was a lot of work, it was very fun too. Yes we had some fights, but we had a lot of laughter as well.
It taught me many lessons, but I guess the greatest lesson I got from this experience was the development of team work skills. This was crucial during the entire process, and I'm sure it will be one of the skills I will be using the most in TGIMUNC.
Despite the affection I feel for MUNLEAI, I'm totally expecting TGIMUNC to win its place as my favorite conference. With all the cultural diversity and different perspectives, this can certainly be an amazing MUN. I'd like to encourage every MUNer to attend TGIMUNC in June in New Delhi, I can assure yu it will be a great experience.
