The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is a part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network and is neutral politically, non-denominational, aim to empowering youth worldwide.
The Communication Assistant will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day communication tasks and will be expected to produce high-quality communication materials, help to organize press events, contribute to online media through digital communication platforms, and act as a media liaison.
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions and the community.
(A) Communication Support:
·To assist with external communication duties including answering media enquiries, writing and editing press releases, preparing articles for the IYF Blog, newsletter and other publications, proofreading and editing publications.
·To support the delivery of the IYF’s Country Team communication plan including creating materials, managing online discussions and keeping campaigns up to date.
·Work proactively and reactively with local and national media to positively promote the image of the IYF.
·To develop media communication, including drafting press briefings, and press releases, their distribution to the target groups and monitor the preparation of press clippings.
·Proof-read and if necessary rewrite media statements.
(B) Social Media & Web Support:
·Managing social media accounts for the Country Team.
·Organize and produce materials for the IYF websites, such as interviews, articles, reports and media content, including interactive and video content.
·To update the social channels and IYF website as required with news stories.
(C) Media Relations Support:
·Establishes effective contacts and develops trusting relationships with media representatives throughout world media agencies, and work with media partners to identify and leverage topics, trends and events to garner media coverage and external awareness.
·Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with targeted media, to help increase awareness and understanding of IYF and its value proposition, and to position IYF as a thought leader on key issues.

·Excellent computer, internet, social media and information system skills.
·Only (18-38) age is accepted for this position.
·Highly interested in Lithuanian youth empowerment, youth issues.
·All nationalities are accepted for application – remote volunteering is possible.
Skills Required for Position:
·Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community.
·Effective oral and written communication skills.
·Ability to assess and evaluate situations quickly, accurately and effectively.
Experience and results preferred at national level and preferred in communication, press or media role, international relations, youth studies, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.
Fluency in English is essential.
