Few days ago i read a nice article by my friend Lyto Linardi titled 5 Tips On How To Take Notes Like A Pro and i commented how i like to write with fountain pens. Later on she asked me "What's with you and the fountain pens?"
Ah, yes. The beautiful fountain pens.
Well, here is the deal. Pens in general are an extension of your arm and the object that helps you create (write or draw) should also fit you perfectly, design vise and character vise. You might say that it is an irrational devotion to an object but most of us suffer from that, in one form or another.
Mind you, i am not a collector of pens i just like to have a perfect pen for the task. I get no satisfaction when i write with general purpose, office pens.
Therefore i use fountain pens for every day writing. They are more personal then any other pen and require attention. You have to clean them from time to time, but hey, they are refillable and you get to choose which color you want to use. Feeling green today, fiery red perhaps? Dark blue? You can even mix inks to create your own color and name it (How does "Logar's midnight routine" sound for a colour?)
Also calligraphy is a visual art related to writing.
So next time someone asks you to sign something on that MUN conference get your beautiful pen out and sign it calligraphy style colored deep blue.
