1.When and where will IIMUN 2016 conference happen?
It will take place in Istanbul, Turkey at Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center located on Istanbul Technical University Ayazağa Campus from Saturday, May 14thto Monday, May 16th2016.
2.How much is the conference fee for IIMUN 2016?
Early registration fee is 70 Euros/220 TL for delegates, student officers and advisors. After 8th of February,payments will be charged an additional 30TL/ 10€ per participant.
3.How many participants will there be at IIMUN 2016 conference?
Approximately 400 participants will attend IIMUN 2016.
4.How long will IIMUN 2016 conference be?
It will be three days long.
5.Is accommodation included in the conference fee? If not, what are my accommodation options?
Accommodation is not included in the conference fee. We recommend the participants to stay at the suggested hotels by the IIMUN team which are located close to the conference venue. You can check out our websiteIIMUN '16 - Homefor further information regarding accommodation options.
6.What committees will IIMUN 2016 simulate?
IIMUN 2016 will simulate Disarmament and International Security Committee (GA1), Economic and Financial Committee (GA2), Human Rights Council (GA4), Legal Committee (GA6), Security Council, International Court of Justice, UN Women and a Special Committee based on the well-known TV series“Doctor Who”.
7.To what airport should I fly to when coming to IIMUN?
You can either fly to Sabiha Gokcen Airport or to Ataturk Airport. However, we suggest you to fly into Ataturk Airport since it’s closer to the conference venue and makes getting to your hotel much easier.
8.What does IIMUN 2016 Schedule look like?
On the first day of IIMUN 2016, we welcome our participants with an opening ceremony. Most distinguished keynote speakers will give their speeches during the opening ceremony. After the opening ceremony, lunch will be served and then, the committee sessions will start. After 2 committee sessions, all the participants will have the chance to relax during the cocktail party which will last for an hour. On the second day, all of the participants will have their committee sessions, lobbying and debates. After having a hopefully successful day, there will be a social event for the ones who would like to attend. And on the last day of our conference, committee sessions will continue. After lunch, the General Assembly committees will have GA Plenary Session, while the Specialized Agencies are having committee sessions. At the end of the day, we will have a closing ceremony including the last remarks of everyone who have participated in these exciting 3 days as well as delegate awards for each committee.
9.What are 3 MUST SEE places in Istanbul?
We recommend that you check out the Maiden’s Tower, Hagia Sophia and take a boat tour along the magnificent Bosphorus when you come to Istanbul
10. What is the local currency?
Local currency in Turkey is Turkish Liras (TRY).
11. What is the application deadline for IIMUN 2016?
The last day for Student Officer applications is February 6th, 2016. The last day for Early Registration for delegations, advisors and individual applicants is February 8th, 2016. And the last day for Late Registration for delegations, advisors and individual applicants is February 22th, 2016.
