Day of the Conference: April 15-16, 2016 Virginia International University 4401 Village Drive Fairfax, VA 322030 (30 minutes away from Washington DC) The Conference will be held at Virginia International University’s Village Drive campus, located at 4401 Village Drive in Fairfax, Virginia. We are only minutes away from the US capital, and near the Vienna Metro Station on the Orange Line.

CPCD will last for 2 days.
5. Is accommodation included in the fee?
No, we have provided information about the close by hotels and transportation near the Conference site: VENUE | Conference on Politics, Conflict, and Development The hotels close to us charge around $80-$90 per night.
The Washington, DC area has three airports servicing the region: Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Reagan National Airport (DCA). Because of its close proximity to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), conference participants are strongly encouraged to use this as an option for flights. The other airports are accessible to/from the university, but are at considerable distance in relation to the location of the university. Information regarding IAD is provided here: Dulles International Airport | Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority The shuttle from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Virginia International University is about $35, one way. Upon arrival, you can immediately schedule a pick-up and be transported from the airport to the university. The ride is about 30 minutes long.
7. How does the agenda look like?
We would have about 30-35 participants divided into 7-8 panels on Friday and Saturday.
8. What are 3 MUST SEE places in Fairfax?
Fairfax, VA is very close to Washington’s DC. The conference organizers will arrange for a shuttle transportation to Washington DC for the afternoon on the second day of the conference. Participants would be able to see downtown Washington DC and if they want arrange for a sightseeing tour. Participants can also visit Fairfax City and the City of Alexandria.
9. What is the application deadline for the CPCD?
The deadline to submit an abstract to present at the conference was February 15th. It has now been extended by two weeks by March 1st, 2016.
