Ever since I have been appointed as the Secretary-General for Vision MUN 2015, there was one moment that I dread, that I wish would never occur. On the first day, I witnessed a group of high school students spread across our campus with excitement and anticipation in their eyes. Over the course of the conference, I saw those very faces but with eyes that glowed with confidence. There is perhaps no comparison that can be drawn to the level of debate deliberation and diplomacy that was witnessed over those committees session.
MUN’s have often come under criticism for not reflecting what real world diplomacy represents and for being a medium to simply feel the passing time of adolescents however if we pay closer attention to what we accomplish, we will realise that we are able to contemplate over some of the most pressing issues of our times, divide solutions and strategies and make them compatible with our respective governments and hence it is to that extent that I argue the reason we don't reflect a reality because, during the amazing conferences like these, we get to outdo reality.
Therefore, as a part of the Secretariat of TGIMUNC, I urge all of you to come witness yet another lot of students debate over challenging issues of our times. I know it for sure that this will be an outstanding conference and you should most certainly join me from June 25th-28th for the World’s largest MUN conference!
I am really looking forward to meeting y'all.
