Pre-tasks of the internship were helpful getting the gist of what MUNPlanet is and how it works. However, I was in need of getting more and more familiar to the community before arriving in Belgrade. So, when I was informed about being selected for the summer internship program, I started browsing on the website to have an idea about the detailed concept of MUNPlanet. It was obvious that each piece was prepared with a dense commitment and plenty of effort was put in but there existed some articles being a huge source of inspiration. Let us take brief information for each of them:
1) Special Interview With Franco Frattini: On World Politics, the United Nations, and Leadership
As the part of Fridays with MUNPlanet, this article provides the opportunity of learning the ideas of Franco Frattini who was a former Italian foreign minister and vice president of the European Commission. He talks about the current political situation around Europe, the reasons of the conflicts and ways of reaching to reconciliation. Benefiting from his invaluable experiences, it would be wise to take a look at this very well prepared piece of interview.
2) Choosing the Next Secretary-General
The second article I would love to share is about the selection of the next SG and history of the previous ones. This article also gives abstract of the job description of the aforementioned position.
3) What are the 10 most important factors to consider when organizing a MUN Conference?
This one is not a post but the answer of Robin Christopher Schoss explains the core of the MUN conferences at its best. Short sentences enriched by visuals bring out a reader friendly answer.
4) Inclusive Growth and Employment for the Post - 2015 Development Agenda
Two important issues; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are taken into consideration. It is explained with a smooth language and several key points are being denoted.
The last but definitely not the least one is the article about one of the most beautiful cities of Balkans, Belgrade. It is such an attracting piece that will surely make you want to visit this city as soon as possible. The photographs provided had increased my excitement for seeing Belgrade. Here is a sample for you:
