Bacau is as lively as it is small, this is an undeniable fact. Us Moldavians are very enthusiastic, hard-working and competitive. Thus, the city that has molded many Romanian personalities still keeps up its reputation. Nowadays, various organizations and contests.
Named after the man who organized it, the former member of the Romanian Academy and alumni of “Ferdinand I” National College in Bacau, the contest offers an innovative perspective on Romanian literature and mathematics. It is still organized at the same college, and up to the 2015 edition, the subjects were written by Solomon Marcus himself, and the first place award has the same importance as that of the National Olympics.
The contest uses competition as an extension of the curriculum, thus enabling students to maximize their capacities in the domains of IT and digital arts. The project was initiated at “Ferdinand I” National College by a group of high school students.

Also, AEBC members are present when relevant decisions are taken both locally, and nationally, promote and encourage performance in education.
Eye Film Festival
The Festival is also organized by students who aim to raise awareness about Romanian filmography. The main goal, however, is raising funds for the only historic local cinema that is still open, so that it can be renovated, and attract more people. During the first edition, in 2015, films produced and directed by Romanians were shown in unconventional venues, such as the local theatre, or in parks.
