I'm Elnur, born in the south and raised in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan – The Land of Fire. Currently living in Dortmund, the most industrial metropolitan and the center of the North Rheine-Westphalia, Germany, home for one of the best soccer teams, holding the second place in the Bundesliga (German soccer league) – Borussia Dortmund Football Club aka BVB.
Dortmund is a city in North Rheine-Westphalia, on the far west of Germany, just about an hour car trip away from Düsseldorf and Cologne, two of the most famous German cities in the area and the world.
Suffering a serious
damage from the 1945 Second World War, Dortmund had to be build and restored
almost from scratch leaving historical representations or landmarks if you will
at danger as the history had to be restored without impairing the originality.
The city was able to bring some of the most beautiful churches and castles with
long history back to life.
The image above is Dortmund shown after the end of the Second World War on another 'trolley mission' launched by Allied troops.
Dortmund has a long tradition of music and theatre.
Maybe a bit unusual as far as the history is concerned but Dortmund is home for one of world's biggest soccer teams - Borussia Dortmund Football Club which inspires the cultural and historical stimulation and one of the biggest reason why the hating neighbours would get together at home or at the Signal Iduna Park (the biggest soccer stadium of Europe) cheering for and supporting the one and only pride of the city.
