I guess this writing is going to be both hard and easy. There are lots of features to share information about in Rome, however describing them all sufficiently is a challenging task. Let’s quickly start and try to complete perfectly the given mission.
The eternal city – la città eterna is very familiar to everyone all over the globe. With its history, pulchritude, supremacy. Each day huge number of tourists from various cities, countries, even continents enjoy the architectural masterpieces, delicious food and joyful weather. And trust me, I’m not exaggerating, I live there.
As there are numerous topics to talk about, I would try to be precise and practical by considering mostly the main points and share my experience gained during living there for couple of months. Warning in advance, your writer is not well aware of the best clubs or fancy lounges, however I’ll inform and recommend several destinations where you can feel the true spirit of Rome.
Places to visit – they are just too many. We all know the Colosseum. It’s indeed one of the first things come to mind when we speak about Rome. Once was the arena for the glorious gladiator fights, now just for the travelers to enjoy the design created by the prominent ancient artists. Regardless of when you go, night or day, summer or winter, it’ll always remain remarkable.
What about Trevi Fountain? This beauty of Baroque era is the largest fountain in Rome and considered to be one the most famous in the world! Another fascinating feature is the phenomenon called “coin throwing”. Each day approximately 3000 euro are thrown by the people from different nationalities with various types of coins. Taking the money from the fountain is illegal, if you’re not a city worker who takes it in the end and distribute organizations supporting people in need. Why not to go and to do some charity as well?
I guess, the fact that museums are numerous and spectacular is obvious. You can also visit Vatican (in fact, another country) and enjoy the delightful art creations again. And of course, Pantheon is an option to go after which you’ll not regret.
In case you’re not really into the art, there is one holy offer you can’t refuse. Italian food. Known and loved worldwide. By everyone. Almost always.
There are many restaurants in the center, between Termini and Spagna metro stations to taste and get amazed by the pizza bianca (white) or infinite types of pasta. For sure, wine must be remarked on high-note too.
Kind of hints and tips. Don’t expect a lot from Caesar salad, it’s actually invented by the Americans. Also to find mozzarella sticks is a hard target, while each trattoria offers buffalo caprese. The last but not least, never order pizza with pineapple or other fruits. Seriously.
In the very end, Rome is the perfect city for everyone, especially for the students. On sunny day, you can sit in the park to read a book and carpe diem. When the weather is delightful, you walk along the beautiful street, while feeling the special atmosphere of the Roman heritage. Meet you there one day.
Arrividerci, grazie! :)
