Professional athleticism is at honour
2007 – Establishing a professional student athlete status. The program offers advantages, such as prolonging studies and adjusting classes according to trainings’ schedule. In 2016, 32 students benefit from the program.

1461 – University of Brittany is founded by François II, the Duc of Brittany.
1793 – University of Brittany closes its doors after the French Revolution.
1808 – A secular Imperial university of Rennes is founded by Napoleon Bonaparte.
1970 – University of Rennes is founded.
1984 – University of Rennes 1 is founded.
