As our MUN:Planet grows, it is important that we preserve the things that got us here; namely, keeping MUN:Planet a decent, welcoming, fun, challenging, and fair place to learn and share ideas.
Uphold the spirit of the Charter of the United Nations
We hold faith in fundamental human rights and dignity of every human person, and want to establish such condition in this community which shall enable its members to “practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours”. And we thus “have resolved to combine our efforts to accomplish these aims”, communicating guided by the spirit of the UN Charter which calls for the civility, dialogue and respect for the differences that unite all of us.
MUN:Planet is a community that stimulates knowledge exchange and communication among its members. With that in mind, the community is founded on the following set of principles:
Act with integrity and show respect for others
- We hold ourselves accountable for the outcomes of our actions
As with Henry Ford who promoted the ideal of best quality of products, at the lowest cost with the highest salaries, so in our community everyone shall be encourage to deliver top quality content, questions, comments, and articles while feeling free to interact within the community.
- We believe in building knowledge together
Claim your point of inquiry
- We encourage curiosity in asking questions, research, and writing
Asking various sorts of questions that revolve around the idea of UN and what brings us together as global citizens is at the heart of MUN:Planet. MUN rules of procedure, to debate on a crisis in the Sub-Saharan Africa, to academic research on the UN system to a career-building tips are just some of the subjects that our members cover. It is up to you to discover or recover other knowledge areas, and you can achieve that by being active and creative.
- Everyone has a view, and each view matters
MUN:Planet is also a collection of original experiences and practices that are available to the community members and preserved for future generations. What is your perspective on a matter - because each individual has an opportunity to share his views, experiences, solutions, or knowledge and facts about the world.
- Believe it or not, your question might not be new
In the question box you type in your inquiry and see if the community has discussed that before. Then you may join the existing discussion and find out what is the current state of affairs there. If there is no such question, then you feel free to post the question and wait until the answers keep coming.
We do not spam or troll
- Keep your comments and interaction relevant to the subject
Keep your communication on a certain issue relevant to the subject. The collective knowledge will not benefit if you are sharing your experience travelling the South China Sea in search of an MUN in the section on the usage of MUN rules of procedure.
- Our community respects the intellectual property rights of others
