We have already talked about our Search bar, but now we’re getting into details.
There are two ways you can search the content on MUNPlanet: Type Ahead Search and Full Text Search.
Type Ahead Search will populate your search results as you are typing your query. Instead of taking you to the search results page, the results are generated in a drop-down window right beneath the bar. This kind of search looks for and displays the results based only on content titles, but it does cover all of the content types, such as articles, questions, topics, etc.
In cases when you need more advanced search, go for the Full Text Search. To access it, press “Enter” on your keyboard once you’re done typing your query. Just like the name suggests, Full Text Search goes through the whole text database, matching the keywords from the query with the results in the database and displaying them among search results, but not only this. You will receive the list of all the search results that are found by default, which you can further curate by the content type. Do this by selecting the content type you’re interested in in the bar above the results.
Our search bar will minimize the time needed to reach the requested content. Beside content, you can use Search to look for people as well. In the end, you can also add question through Search. If you cannot find something you are looking for, that content is probably still missing here on MUNPlanet. To get it on there, go ahead and ask a question directly through Search by clicking on the green “+Add this question” button.
