It is no longer unusual to take an active part in the decision making process. The Model United Nations (MUN) concept comes up with innovative ideas of training future leaders, in a new virtual environment aiming to connect aspiring politicians from all over the world. Boundaries disappear in a blink of an eye, when fellow passionate youngsters reunite on / to debate, exchange, explore. From internship opportunities at the headquarters of the UN to summer adventures in foreign countries, members of the MUN community become globetrotters ''addicted to diplomacy'', ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.
Besides getting familiar with International Relations, throughout a wide range of articles written by experts in the field, MUNers learn how to interact with their peers, coming from all backgrounds. They learn about understanding, sharing and tolerance, defending at the same time a personal position on a particular subject. Being myself an active member of the MUN community, I deeply encourage every aspiring leader to join this MUN phenomenon, which can be the key to a future career in diplomacy, a wonderful experience to share with the other participants and a great project to speak about. When I first attended a MUN conference I felt as an outsider of the diplomatic world, now I see myself dealing with international public law issues. I strongly believe that sharing my views with students from all over the world helped me grow as a person, understand different political and social backgrounds and realise that I am the change I want to see in the world!
