You didn’t really study hard your junior year, did you? It’s okay, most of us have a low point in our GPA somewhere along the four years of school. Avoid the college essay cliches at any cost or else you will just be thrown aside. Your essay should be about you and showcase your personality, your originality. Don’t forget that you are unique - tell them what it is that makes you special.
Most of the applications that you will ever fill will require a strong motivational letter. Speaking from your heart might sound like a fantastic strategy, but you will probably omit the important bits which, in the end may prove to be critical in your application's success.
Finally, remember that to actually win a scholarship, you have to apply in the first place. Don’t give up before you have even started. Apply for as many scholarships as you can, keep trying and don’t get discouraged. Only those who keep trying get rewards.
