SiMUN 2013

"SiMUN 2013 was held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor. SiMUN gathered 68 participants from 14 different countries. We had three committees: Human Rights Council which was devoted to the topics of the rights of the LGBT community and farmers' right to food; Economic and Social Council which dealt with the issues of brain drain and modern labour slavery; and Security Council which focused on the situation in Mali.
The sessions were held at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana; however, the last day took place in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia."

SiMUN 2011

"The fourth Slovenia international Model United Nations 2011 was a success. Participants from all over the world, namely from Georgia, Mongolia and all the way to Great Britain and Latvia, gathered to converge their ideas into solving the issues of the international community. After successful use of both main organs of the United Nations – the General Assembly and the Security Council in SiMUN 2010, we decided to maintain the same selection also in SiMUN 2011. In the General Assembly participants tackled the burning topics of environmental refugees and the sovereignty of Palestinian people over national resources and in Security Council they dealt with the topical security situation in Somalia."

"Slovenia international Model United Nations 2010 was a success. Already for the third time, participants from all over the world, namely from Mexico, Macao, Ukraine and all the way to Great Britain and Germany, gathered to converge their ideas into solving the issues of the international community. In 2010, for the first time SiMUN participants negotiated on the solutions for global problems in both main organs of the United Nations, namely the General Assembly and the Security Council. In the General Assembly, they tackled the burning topics of the new global environmental agreement and global poverty and in Security Council they dealt successfully with the ongoing crisis situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo."
