Dear MUN enthusiasts!
The TEIMUN Conference is about to begin but you still have the opportunity to sign up!
From the 21st until the 27th of July, The European International Model United Nations (TEIMUN) will take place in The Hague, the Netherlands. During TEIMUN , 250 students from over 50 countries will simulate 8 different councils. If you are a university student, it is still possible to sign up for this unique event. In order represent your favorite country, sign up as soon as possible.
TEIMUN is the oldest MUN in continental Europe and this year will be the 27th edition. TEIMUN strikes a good balance between a professional atmosphere and social interaction between the delegates. As a consequence, TEIMUN is a very good starting point for first time MUN’ers, as well as being a very challenging conference for MUN veterans. The sessions are the most important part of the week, however, the social program is of equal value to the program and creates 'the TEIMUN feeling', for which many MUN'ers return to The Hague year after year.
This year's theme for TEIMUN 2014 is : Pursuing Perpetual Peace: Ideals and Interests at War.
The theme covers the interaction between national interest and global responsibility. Nowadays, the UN can be seen as an actor in the international arena contributing to overall global justice and development. In an international system characterized by the principle of equality of states and national sovereignty, the UN fulfills its function of mediator to harmonize the conflicting ideals and interests. Yet, to bridge the gap and to find global solutions, especially in a rapidly changing world, is still a challenge. In which way can the UN overcome this challenge? To what extent do states need to give up sovereignty to encompass global responsibility? When is the balance between international ideals and national interests reached? TEIMUN will try explore the solutions to these issues by international negotiation and diplomacy.

We hope to see you on the 21st of July!
