The revelation by the London Metropolitan Police that the third attacker at the Borough Market, Youssef Zaghba, was once held for questioning last year in Italy, is enough to set alight the warning lights. According to the Italian news agency, ANSA, the 22 year-old terrorist of Moroccan descent was briefly held-up at Bologna Airport enroute to Instabul in Turkey.
In my view, such intelligence should have been shared to other jurisdictions so as to avert the unnecessary death of innocent people. It is thus paramount that intelligence be shared amongst European nations and other countries as a way to combat terrorism in its infancy.
