The best MUN conference will create the best resolution for our world problems, right? Last year, I attended ROMUN 2015 in Rome, Italy. It was my first international MUN abroad. Thanks to MUN Planet, because I got a full scholarship from US Diplomatic Mission in Italy.
Unlike other MUN Conferences, ROMUN divided us into
Roundtables, not committees. Each roundtable had a different topic of SDGs
point. So, all of the roundtables discussed about SDGs problem and how to solve
it. During the conference, I was the delegate of Russian Federation in the
Roundtable 1. The Roundtable 1 discussed about the point 1, 2, and 3 of SDGs
which are about poverty, hunger and healthy. Before and after the roundtable sessions,
there were General Assembly sessions where all of the delegates met. Of course,
I met the other delegate of Russian Federation from Roundtable 2, 3, 4, 5 and
This picture describe how fun the roundtable 1 members were. There were around 500 delegates from 60 different
countries and 4 continents. It was the best conference of the year for me. I
met a lot of new friends with their open minded and brilliant thoughts about
how to solve our world problems. The social events were awesome and in the end of the
conference, we had a “Youth Road Map” that consists of resolutions from each
roundtable. That road map is delivered to United Nations. After the conference, we visited Expo Milan and made a campaign to make people aware about hunger problem. What makes this
conference best and unforgettable is about the conference system, the teamwork
between delegates and of course the youth road map that we proud of.
