Secondly, ZaMUN was packed with social gatherings and events. It showed Slovak culture in the best light to the international delegates, through food and drink tastings as well as historical nights where it represented the evolution of Slovaks. These events were not only interesting to the international audience; however they were fun for the locals as well. Through these meeting I personally acquired numerous valuable connections and friendships which last to this day. Lastly, what made ZaMUN the best MUN so far are the topics of the conference. The selection of the right topics that are current and meaningful, while being interesting is a complicated process. At ZaMUN you could choose between regular committees and special ones, for example the International Court of Justice that I myself took part in. This allows the directors of the committees to choose more specific issues and to be detailed in their resolutions or communiques, which in turn makes it easier for delegates to prepare for the conference.
In conclusion, I have learned an abundance of skills from ZaMUN and similar conferences, which I intend to use at The Global Indian Model United Nations Conference in New Delhi (25th – 28th June 2016), where I was chosen to be the Vice Director of the Historical Security Council. The whole TGIMUN team, myself included will work to the best of our abilities to make TGIMUN the best conference ever! Join me at TGIMUNC, the world’s largest Model United Nations conference.
