But when you're 45 minutes late, inhaling what seems like a silver gray cloud and all you can see are stoplights ahead, would you still say 'AH! Traffic! This is what dreams are made of!' Nope. I think you won't.
Experts and businessmen are torn. Some say that the car industry will soon hit it's peak and some say that the growing size of the middle class is a sign that this automobile dream is far from sleeping. We may not be certain of what lies in the future, but one thing is for sure; heavy crazy mad traffic is universal.
There have been, of course, tons of programs, solutions, etc., that are being developed in line with this problem. We have calls for more roads, increased car taxes, improved public transport, and a whole traffic more. But as students, how can we contribute to this problem immediately? What I am about to share is nothing novel and nothing extraordinary. My aim in writing this article is simply to remind you that within our very own bodies lies the solution. I think you know what I'm talking about.
Why you should ride that bike
As wide-ranging as the problem of traffic is, more and more people too are taking notice of the consequences we are now facing. Biking has been one of the more popular alternatives to owning a private vehicle. It has, of course, its disadvantages and limits, just like everything on the planet -- but it is something worth considering.
