Remember how, in times like these, they always tell you to think about something positive, something you love? And how that will somehow solve every problem on earth, right? Wrong! Well, the first thing that came to my mind was a Pizza (?!). That clearly didn't work! But there was a brief moment, right after, when I asked myself a few questions. Why am I here? Do I really love the United Nations? As a 14-year old, can I really make a difference in the world? Is this all worth it? Big, tough questions for a young boy, I know. I didn't answer those questions, then. You know what I did instead? I opened my eyes and started delivering my speech. Speech after speech. Speech after speech. I grew more confident and enthusiastic. It was then when I had all my answers. Yes! I'm here because I love the United Nations. I'm here because I CAN and I WILL make a difference. And yes! I'm here because it's totally worth it.
It's moments like these that define who you are and what you want to be. If you ever feel like contributing towards global prosperity in the slightest of ways, think about what you can do using this platform. Think about where it can take you. Think about how there can be change. Think about how YOU can be that change. Since that day, I haven't look back. Being a part of over 60 conferences, both as a delegate and as a chair, nationally and internationally, I'm proud of the choices I have made. Every conference I go to has a unique place in my heart. Every speech I deliver takes me closer to my goal. Today, I'm Pakistan's most successful and experienced Model United Nations protege and such experiences that I speak of, help me stay there.
