Are you ready for the weekend? Yes. But still, you have not managed to read all those interesting international stories during the week. This column is going to keep you updated and stocked up with the readings in international relations that might have a bearing on the world ahead. You can expect regular updates every Friday about 16.30 hrs (GMT+1).

PICKS OF THE WEEK

Rising Seas - Before you is a New York Times essay dealing with the consequences that rising sea-levels have on people and whole ecosystems in some of the most vulnerable coastal areas and small-island states. Also, there are a couple of breath-taking photos depicting life in those areas.

Ban Ki-moon visits Greenland - UN SG raising awareness on the consequences of climate change. Check the coverage of his visit on the official UN Tumblr Account.

How Countries Calculate their GDP - in this lovely Economist backgrounder you can find a brief history of GDP calculation in the world since the late 16th century. Some have proposed to change GDP with "Gross happiness index", but is that worth a punt?

What is going on in Myanmar this week? A friend of MUNPlanet told us of some internal political commotion in Myanmar that has the potential to escalate. Fore more details, read the Economist coverage.

Blocking social networks, a move doomed to failure? Turkey moved to block Twitter this week, but there are seven more countries limiting access to social networks, writes Mother Jones.

How to say hello in 21 languages? Udvozlom! Are you ready for your next MUN in Hungary? See this interesting info-graphic by TIME magazine.

Have a great weekend, and share with us what other stories you have read.
