Students of the Department of Translation and Interpretation gain the professional skills to become
successful in the sector, undertaking written and oral translation work, operating effectively in national and international meetings, and capable of translating both scientific and literary documentation.
The course content of the Translation and Interpretation Department is compatible with Yaşar University’s educational philosophy. Within the curriculum, the first year courses aim to build on the student’s fundamental language skills in English, such as reading, writing and verbal expression. Students will gain a full command of the language with an in-depth understanding of the grammatical rules. Courses in written and oral translation are introduced in the following semesters. Theoretical and applied translation courses start in the second year. These focus on written and oral translation proficiency in a range of specialist subject areas including medicine, law, economy, international trade, and European relations. In addition, the department offers French as a second foreign language for eight semesters.Career opportunities
