Originally from Tokyo, Japan, I have a background in communications, startups, and higher education. From October 2016 to July 2017 I will be a Master's Candidate at the University of Cambridge, reading Development Studies. I am a recent Brown graduate, with a BA in International Relations.
I worked at Brown University's Office of Global Engagement from 2015-2016 and, prior to that, at the Brown-India Initiative at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, where I managed communications and publicity. Before that I was an intern reporter at the Times of India, based in Delhi, where I covered politics and culture; the Japanese contents manager for bab.la, an online dictionary startup based in Hamburg, Germany; and an English volunteer teacher for Learning Enterprises, where I taught in a rural village in Thailand. I speak Japanese and German and have traveled extensively throughout Asia and Europe.
