Christian B. Gultia is a dynamic human rights advocate and youth leader. Presently, he is the Assistant to the Secretary-General and Fundraising Officer of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) – an award-winning network of human rights organizations working directly on the issue of enforced disappearances in the vast Asian region. He also provides general administrative and project management support in AFAD’s function as the focal point of the International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearances (ICAED) – an international coalition of more than 55 human rights organizations from across the globe.
Christian was previously a Senior Administrative Assistant III of the Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Philippine Department of Transportation where he provided both administrative, communications and legal support to the Office.
Christian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts major in Legal Management from the University of the East. He was a national debater, academic scholar and he also held various positions of responsibility during his residency in UE. He was the President of the University Student Council and he also handled different posts in national, social and political organizations such as the Filipino Liberal Youth and the United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines.
Only recently, he was appointed as the Spokesperson of Bente Uno, a youth based coalition of various Student Government Councils, Organizations, and Social Media Groups. He is now a second year student of Master of Arts in Philippine Studies specializing in Development Studies in University of the Philippines.

As fundraiser, I explore in a sustained manner, possibilities of cooperation with potential funding partners and assist in the drafting of proposals coordinated with the Secretary-General and other Project Officers. As Assistant to Secretary-General, I also provide support in the work for the International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearances for which AFAD functions as the Focal Point.
